12 Personal Rivalries That Made WWE Stronger

12. Bobby Heenan And Hulk Hogan

If one were to have been an avid viewer of the '80s era WWF, the idea that Bobby Heenan actually hated Hulk Hogan in real life would make all of the sense in the world. Of course, in reality that was far from true, but the nature of Heenan's attacks always centering around the fact that Hogan was an egomaniacal a**hole always felt as if they were coming from a place of quite possible truth. Of course, add into this the idea that Hogan managed King Kong Bundy against Hogan at Wrestlemania II and was they catalyst behind Andre the Giant turning his back on a friendship with Hogan to set up Wrestlemania III and in the kayfabe-protecting era of the WWF, the heat between Hogan and oftentimes chief antagonizer Bobby Heenan felt as real as real can get, and also led to the company doing it's then-largest live event gate receipts ever. In a case of Heenan's level of hate inspiring incredibly gripping (for that era) work out of Hogan, there's certainly a great rivalry between the two of them that demands a mention here.
