12 Potential WWE WrestleMania 32 Main Events

3. John Cena vs. The Undertaker

This match is a tricky one. Had this taken place 5 years ago while The Streak was still in tact and Cena wasn't looking over his shoulder, there would be no question that a match of this magnitude would main event WrestleMania. As it is, WWE waited too long to pull the trigger on this one and now has the first-world problem of debating exactly how to book this match. Where does it go on the card? What's the story being told? Who goes over? What happens after? That last question is too often overlooked, or not looked at all by WWE, and could be the case again here. Still, a Cena vs. Undertaker match would still draw huge, but how does it end? The Undertaker defeating John Cena doesn't mean as much now as it would have meant several years ago. With Cena losing to Del Rio, Owens, and Rusev all within the past year, it takes some of the wind out of the sails for an Undertaker victory. Conversely, one has to believe that The Undertaker's next loss will be his final one; he isn't the type of character that would be used jobbing to multiple up-and-comers before being sent out to pasture. Both the man and the character command more respect than that. And what does Cena, or WWE, have to gain by putting John over The Undertaker at WrestleMania? The finish being in doubt is a very, very good thing for any match and it's usually the first step towards a WrestleMania moment for the ages, but it also could go down as one of the greatest matches never to be seen.
