AS: Did you make it into the Hogan/Bischoff era at all?

SD: I quit the week before. I was supposed to wrestle on that first live episode, and I quit at the pay-per-view before it. They wanted to do that f***ing thing where they had Feast or Fired, and me and Cody Deaner tied for the suitcase...and I don't remember what the deal was with that.

So the first live Impact on Monday we're going to have a match and whoever lost was going to get repackaged and sent home for a bit or actually let go. They said at that point it's going to be Bischoff's and Hogan's decision. They are going to be the ones to decide.

I just knew that Hogan and Bischoff wouldn't like Deaner's gimmick. Bischoff likes me, but he was never my boss, he was just another talent when I was there in WWE. So we got along and I know Hogan loved me as a talent and a person. So I was ninety-nine percent sure that Cody was going to end up getting fired or re-packaged or whatever.

And when they told me this whole thing I was just so fed up with Russo and all that s**t, at the pay-per-view I just said, 'f**k it. Let Cody keep this job and let me come down there with the briefcase and you can let me go.' I had been raising hell for months, and I think they didn't want Hogan and Bischoff keeping me around and then wreaking havoc on their lives.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
