12 Radical Ideas That Could Save WWE Smackdown

6. More Promos, Please

The undercard need TV time to speak, as well as wrestle. How many in the WWE audience knew how funny Big E and Xavier Woods were until they had a chance to shine on the mic and in backstage vignettes and promos? The New Day, in particular, took seconds of TV time every week and made it golden - and now they're the most entertaining thing on the show. You€™ve hired performers, people who love to show off€ let them show off. JBL, the biggest mouth on the show for years, was wasted as a big, nasty silent enforcer for an equal number of years before he got a chance to shine. CM Punk: the motormouthed tweener, the megalomaniacal straight-edge saviour or the sarcastic, mean-spirited heel; none of those characters would have come out had Vince McMahon kept him away from the mic as an overachieving white meat babyface. Get the WWE undercard delivering promos, showing off their characters. People will get excited about feuds when they care about who's in them. Three hours on RAW is apparently not enough to showcase the WWE€™s strikingly roster and their talent - so stop wasting the two hours on Smackdown.
