10. He Ignored His Contractual Obligations
WWE.comWe have to admit that weve never fully understood this particular whinge from fans. If the complaint was that, by leaving six months early, Punk cost us a string of classic matches and compelling feuds, we could understand it. If the charge was that Punk should have run out his contract till July and put someone over on the way out passed the torch then we could definitely sympathise. But so many of his detractors over the last few months seem keen to harp on the alleged lack of professionalism that CM Punk displayed in refusing to honour the remainder of his legally binding contract. How important is that really, to anyone? It smacks of bitterness to us, a weaselly way of refusing to admit that a professional wrestler should absolutely have the right to place his health and happiness over and above that of his employers and his fanbase. And lets not forget that WWE show no hesitation whatsoever in terminating the contracts of anyone they feel like when creative has nothing for them. Only in the last fortnight a dozen people have been let go before their contracts had expired. If its a matter of fairness, then surely
this should have fans up in arms? If its a matter of legality, then since when are so many members of the IWC lawyers?
