12 Signs WWE Fans Should Never Get Their Own Way

4. WWE Should Redo The 'Invasion'

The WCW 'Invasion' of 2001 was poorly handled by the then-World Wrestling Federation. From the off, the WWF seemed unwilling to really paint the incomers as a true threat, which greatly hampered any success that could have been gleaned from the monster angle. Fans had waited years to see a real WWF vs. WCW scenario, but the entire saga was quite the let down. There are those who feel WWE should set things right and re-book the Invasion. It's impossible to see how that could work in the current climate. WCW and ECW went out of business in 2001, so where would the spark come from for the angle today? Sting vs. Triple H was booked as WCW vs. WWE, but on a smaller scale. The idea was also shoe-horned into the feud. Even if the unthinkable was to happen, and WWE booked another Invasion, the end result would still be the same. As was shown during Triple H vs. Sting, the company cannot resist the urge to make themselves appear vastly superior. The entire ordeal would be a gross waste of time, and seems implausible, but that hasn't stopped fans talking about a WCW comeback.
