So, is this deal a good deal or a bad deal? On the one hand you have the argument that WWE have paid a lot of money for a guy who is probably past it. There's a belief that Sting really isn't worth too much to the WWE's fanbase. Indeed, if you're sixteen years old, you probably don't even have a clue who this guy is. Only the generation who were kids or older in the mid 90's will remember Sting's real worth. However, with the WWE machine behind him, and multiple merchandise lines, it's hard to judge this as a bad investment for WWE. They'll make their money on him. From a purely sentimental point of view, it is great to see this WCW Icon finally in WWE. It feels like a special moment and it energised a disgruntled older generation into having some zest for WWE again. Creatively and commercially, Sting vs Triple H is likely to deliver. It would take a real idiot to ruin this... but then look at how Brock Lesnar has been booked in his WWE deal 2012-2014! Time will tell what Sting's true worth to WWE is, but we're excited to see how his story unfolds.
