12 Things All WWE Fans Owe To Vince McMahon

2. Listening To Fans

One of the most popular ideas around is that WWE book storylines and push certain characters to spite their fans. If true, that would be the most ludicrous way to conduct business - by doing the exact opposite of what fans want to see, WWE would be painting themselves into a corner. Of course, there have been occasions where the company have appeared to resist going in the direction many fans wish to see, but by-and-large, there's been a real, concerted effort to push those the fanbase will invest emotion and, more importantly, money into. Never was this more evident than with the year-long reign as World Champion of CM Punk, or the rise of Daniel Bryan, who captured the top title at Wrestlemania. Neither of those men are prototypical, Hulk Hogan-style WWE Superstars, but they follow the likes of Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Kurt Angle and Eddie Guerrero as workhorses who had something special, something too special to ignore. If anyone thinks Vince McMahon is stupid enough to ignore money, maybe they're more deluded than they claim him to be. Instead of thinking WWE is out to stick it to the fans, more folks should realise that Vince does actually want their support.
