Now for the first of a few wonderful records this 'Icon' has managed to add to a career that also boasts numerous world championship wins and legendary bouts against some of the very best to ever do it.

While Sting would obviously add other memorable chapters to his story in the likes of TNA, WWE, and AEW along the way, there's no denying that many class his time within the walls of WCW as his most memorable spell in-between the ropes.

And it was during those days of locking up with everyone from Ric Flair to Hulk Hogan in the Ted Turner organisation that 'Stinger' managed to set a little-known record that will obviously now never be broken.

Before WCW closed its doors for good in 2001, Sting had actually racked up a staggering 94 appearances (via ProFightDB) on NWA/WCW PPVs. Almost 20 more than the dude in second place, his old tag partner Lex Luger.

And, with that many showings at special events also came with it the record of most wins on PPV under the WCW banner, picking up a total of 55 during his time there (via The Sportster).

They didn't call the often victorious hero the heart and soul of WCW for nothing.
