8. The REAL Reason He Originally Turned Down WWE

Despite being easily one of the most recognisable and celebrated performers ever to step between the ropes, Sting actually barely spent any time at all wrestling for the biggest wrestling organisation on the planet.

Before eventually choosing to finally give that sports entertainment life a try in 2014, though - more on that later - there was a very good reason the man behind the face paint chose not to follow the likes of Goldberg, the nWo, Booker T, and many more to WWE after WCW was bought by their long-time rivals in 2001.

You see, back when those first few WCW names started popping up on Vince McMahon's product at that time, Sting felt WWE would've likely just brought him in as a way of undermining his former workplace rather than because he was a talent they wanted to use properly.

Specifically, a moment involving the aforementioned Booker T interacting with The Rock, who responded by asking the former who he was when they bumped into each other, made him seriously lose trust in the company.

What would stop them from having 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin make a fool of the legendary WCW star should he finally sign on the dotted line, for example?

In the end, it would be a whopping 13 years before Sting finally made his presence felt in WWE.
