12 Things You Should Never Say To A Wrestling Fan

8. They Can't Really Fight

"All they are is posers in tights poncing around, the lot of 'em. Triple H? Nancy boy! If they ever got in a real fight, they'd be screwed" This one sadly has precedent due to WWE's ill-fated "Brawl For All" idea, when Bart Gunn got knocked out in record time by Butterbean (another one for the embarrassing moments list). There was also that angle with Big Show and Floyd Mayweather a few years back. You've got to admit, the sight of a giant getting laid out by one punch from a man who's barely over five feet tall does lend weight to the idea. BUT these are exceptions rather than the rule, and the fact remains that you do not want to cross the majority of professional wrestlers. Kurt Angle competed at the Olympic level in wrestling. Brock Lesnar and Ken Shamrock have both excelled in UFC, with CM Punk making his debut sometime this year. Mark Henry was at one point the strongest man in the world. Maybe some are tougher than others, but few people would be brave enough to piss off the Brock Lesnars, Rusevs and New Jacks of the world.

Stephen Maher has been a rock star, a bouncer, a banker and a busker on various streets in various countries. He's hung out with Robert Plant, he was at Nelson Mandela's birthday and he's swapped stories with prostitutes and crack addicts. He once performed at a Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras by accident. These days, he passes the time by writing about music, wrestling, games and other forms of nerdery. And he rarely drinks the blood of the innocent.
