What He Was/Is: Joe originally had a nice rise to the top in TNA. He was one of the few homegrown talents (if you don't count ROH) they actually protected over a period of time. After he captured the world title, he was cast aside whenever one of the companies new toys from WCW or WWE came in. Lets not forget that Orlando Jordan beat him in his very first night in. In his last appearance on TV he had to forfeit his X-Division title due to injury. What He Should Have Been: An absolute killer. And not a literal one like when TNA briefly gave him a gimmick where he carried a knife. Im saying he goes into a match, and can maul anyone on the roster within a matter of minutes, except for the top guys in the company. As many wrestlers as TNA has had over the years, very few have been pushed as unstoppable. What makes Joe unique is that hes clearly a great talent, but someone that WWE probably wouldnt have that much interest in. He just doesnt have the look theyre going for. TNA should have marketed that. He appears to be a little out of shape, but can still bring it in the ring like few men in the business can. Just using an example, Steve Austin has often sung the praises of Joe, and I'll take his opinion over anyone's in TNA.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
