12 Ups & 0 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Jul 22)

4. Inner Circle Cheat To Win

Chris Jericho and Jurassic Express have always loathed each other and got the chance to slug it out last night, with Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy battling 'Le Champion' and Jake Hager in the main event. Strong performances were entered by all. Jungle Boy was out to prove his previous 10-minute draw with Jericho was no fluke, though he was ground down by the heels as the bout reached its second act. Luchasaurus, meanwhile, had his knees targeted earlier, though he still had enough energy to mount his obligatory hot tag, decimating both Inner Circle members with big boy offense, coming close to taking the win.

Said win eluded him when "Serpentico" hit the apron, smacked him with a bat, and facilitated Jericho's Codebreaker. The post-match beatdown brought the unmasking and Sammy Guevara's return.

Orange Cassidy and Best Friends' involvement means we're getting a five-on-five next week. Not the earth-shaking show-closing angle Dynamite often ends on, perhaps, but functional nonetheless.

There was little to complain about with the match itself, hence the positioning. Jurassic are always lots of fun to watch and Jericho torturing little puke Jungle Boy is joyous, though not as joyous as the eventual comeuppance will be.
