12 Ups & 1 Down From Impact Wrestling (May 26)

Another cinematic match sees decent performances from Cody Deaner and The North.

Impact Wrestling

This week's edition of Impact Wrestling was by far the company's greatest episode in some time. The recent episodes have been decent enough, but this week knocked all of them straight out of the park. Exceptional in-ring action, delightful promo skills, new roster additions, it had everything you could possibly ask for during a wrestling show. That they did so during such a strange time in the world is truly remarkable.

The main highlight was, of course, the semifinals of the World Championship number one contendership tournament, with Michael Elgin, Ace Austin, Trey, and Hernandez all battling to be next in line to challenge Tessa Blanchard upon her return. Elsewhere, The North took a trip to the Deaner Compound for what turned out to be even better than what was expected heading into it, while there doesn't seem to be an issue deciding on their next challengers, with a number one contender's match set for next week.

In addition, the knockouts division was on full display throughout the evening. Havok and Nevaeh finally provided an answer regarding the status of them working as a single unit, Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz proved to be an alright pairing based solely on their backstage work with Kylie Rae and Susie, and a new star joined the ranks, fresh out of NXT. Lots to be a fan of here.

Let's get to it...
