12. The Miz Overcomes Jey Uso

The Miz vs. Jey Uso was Very Okay, and that, in itself, is okay. Such matches aren't supposed to blow the doors off. It's weekly television, so the priority is hitting the necessary story beats through neat, tidy action condensed into a curtailed runtime. That's exactly what we got here.

'The A-Lister' is so solid he could wrestle functional bouts like this in his sleep. Him and Jey worked well, starting with Miz and Shane McMahon dumping The Usos out of the ring, before settling into a textbook back-and-forth layout. Shenanigans were inevitable with both partners at ringside. This played into the finish, when Jimmy attempted to interfere on his brother's behalf, only for McMahon to take care of him, allowing Miz to hit Jey with the Skull-Crushing Finale for the pre-PPV victory.

50/50 booking tells us that Miz and McMahon will now fall at Fastlane, likely prompting Miz's long-expected turn on the SmackDown authority figure. Given that most fans have seen this move coming from a mile off, it'll be good to see WWE finally pull the trigger, allowing The Usos to move onto something bigger and better.
