12 Ups & 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Feb 12)

11. Using The IIconics Well

While SmackDown's women's three-way tag didn't hit the mark, WWE used The IIconics in their most effective way last night, with Billie Kay and Peyton Royce coming off suitably heelish.

They wrestled early in the bout, but bailed out late on. As Cory Graves had pointed out on commentary earlier, this was a smart move, as while winning technically meant nothing, the losers would have to start the match against the favourites, Bayley and Sasha Banks. Lines like this are often dropped without being paid off, so kudos to WWE for actually doing it this time.

The IIconics weren't finished after dropping to the floor, though. They attacked Naomi and Carmella moments after their victory, destroying both, with 'Mella eating the ring post on her way out. Kay and Royce were left standing tall at the end of it all, making this a welcome change from their usual jobber-like presentation.
