12 Ups & 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Feb 5)

Ups...

12. Weak Name, Big Win

Mandy Rose Sonya Deville

Fire & Desire is a whack tag team name, but Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose were the right duo to win last night's three-way women's tag match.

The IIconics are enhancement talent, Naomi and Carmella were only thrown-together last night, while Sonya and Mandy have been working together for years. Neither is the finished article, but they should be featured fixtures in the upcoming tag division. Last night's victory was a great start in establishing them as potential contenders.

Though short, the match had its highlights, with Deville once again looking like an exciting prospect, showcasing some impressive selling as Naomi battered her with kicks. The finish was ideal, too. With Royce and Kay downed, Rose snuck into the ring, dropped Naomi, and scored the 1-2-3, taking another W in their ongoing feud.

Naomi's babyface redemption will come, but WWE are doing the right thing in keeping her on the backfoot at the moment. Credit to them for not reverting to 50/50 booking.
