12 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Oct 2)

4. PAC Bastardises Page

Hangman Page delivered his most impressive AEW performance to date when he wrestled PAC on Dynamite, working with the kind of fire and thunder one would expect from a wrestler cast as a young, hungry future babyface star, though he fell to 'The Bastard' in about 13 minutes.

This was a perfect first instalment in that PAC and Page gave fans enough to sink their teeth into without emptying their tanks, leaving plenty on the table for the next time they meet. It was a real teeth-rattler at times. PAC is such an incessantly mean heel that it's impossible not to feel sympathy for his opponents and everything he threw at Hangman looked like it hurt. Page, meanwhile, fought with an urgency largely missing from the Jericho and Sabian matches, drawing big reactions for his signature offense.

The finish was class. PAC straight-up booted Page in the b*llocks while Earl Hebner was distracted. This led to him scaling the top rope for the Black Arrow to Hangman's back, before locking in the Brutalizer that finished Kenny Omega at All Out. That was enough for Page; he verbally submitted.

Great match, and a great in-ring start to their feud. Next time will be even better.
