12 Ups & 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Jun 25)
2. Sloppy, Sloppy Shane
Was Shane McMahon drunk when he cut last night's pre-taped promo? It was uncharacteristically bad.
Criticisms on the man's in-ring ability, push, and presentation are usually warranted, but Shane, like his sister, has always been a strong personality. That aspect of his game is usually excellent; last night, in this segment, it was garbage.
Shane sounded flustered, rushed, and robotic. It was as if the cameraman was holding a hastily-prepared script up as he recorded, and McMahon hadn't been able to look through it before the show went on the air. As a result, we got an utterly unconvincing diatribe in which the 'Best in the World' chastised Roman Reigns' desperation in calling on The Undertaker, claimed her feared no man "dead or alive," and warned the SmackDown roster: "don't get on my bad side because frankly, I'm p*ssed."
The segment was mercifully short, but we know Shane can do better than this.
