12 Ups And 15 Downs For WWE In 2017 (2nd Opinion)

1. AJ Saves The Day Over And Over

And your MVP for WWE in 2017 is without a doubt the Phenomenal AJ Styles.

Really, there’s little to argue here. Styles entered and exited 2017 as the WWE Champion. In between, he carried Shane McMahon to a good match at WrestleMania, carried the United States Championship with pride, and rescued the world title from the abyss that was Jinder Mahal’s title reign.

Styles was the go-to guy called upon to carry SmackDown throughout the year, and he even became the ultimate pinch-hitter, flying home from an overseas tour to appear on a Raw PPV against Finn Balor in a dream match that stole the show and saved it from completely tanking to becoming a watchable evening.

It’s really hard to imagine how bad off WWE would be without Styles, who has been in the company for less than two years. He’s become one of its top stars and deserves a spotlight match at WrestleMania XXXIV.
