12 Wrestlers Who Hung On Way Too Long

5. Kevin Nash

It€™s hard to say where the wrestling business would be right now without Scott Hall and Kevin Nash invading WCW. Big Sexy helped ignite a wrestling explosion, bringing it back into the mainstream. This was despite the fact that he was never much of a wrestler. He was a big guy, who suffered numerous knee injuries, and just wasn€™t that fond of bumping in the first place. A former incredible college athlete, he looked quite breakable in his last WWE run in 2011. Post-WCW, you can understand why WWE wanted him back. Another NWO invasion seemed like a pretty good idea. Then everything went wrong. Nash was injured quickly into the run (and Hall was fired, and Hogan was turned babyface). After spending months on the sidelines, Big Daddy Cool came back to try and save the NWO...and then immediately blew out his quad, spending months longer on the shelf. A few more quick runs in WWE (and a lengthy stay in TNA) ended with him in a ladder match against HHH, which seemed like a horrible idea to everyone but managment. When He Should Have Hung Up The Tights: Probably somewhere around WrestleMania 24. While Nash was in TNA at the time, a quick run in WWE putting over someone like a CM Punk or Edge would have been a nice use of him.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
