As part of their early NXT spring cleaning, WWE also cut Mae Young Classic competitor Sage Beckett loose in March.

Despite being a ten-year veteran of the independent scene when she made the move to Florida, Beckett was initially used as Lana's manager, of all things. Her bow in the Mae Young Classic ended in a first round defeat to Bianca Belair, after which she faded into Orlando irrelevance.

Following her release, Beckett mused on Twitter that, "I've given my body for 13 years, now it's time to use my brain." It's not clear what she meant by that.
