12 WWE Superstars Who Made It Big And Then Just Disappeared

1. Kurt Angle

For more than six years, Kurt Angle ruled the ring in WWE. No one was like him before and no one has been like him since. He€™s won every major title in the company (fifth Grand Slam champion), is a former King of the Ring and dominated every aspect of the promotion. Put a microphone in his hand and watch him go. He could be serious or leave your sides hurting from laughter. Quite simply, Angle could do it all and was a wrestling promoter€™s dream come true. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1GuNphiTtI In 2006, the former five-time world champion was drafted to ECW, anchoring the fledgling brand, but he shortly thereafter would be released from his contract early due to health concerns. And just like that, one of WWE€™s brightest stars, a guy who theoretically could have carried ECW into a competitive relationship with its sister programs, was gone. Suddenly, there was a major void of star power. We keep hearing that Angle will return to WWE, but it seems like he has reached the end of his career, as injuries and personal problems have clouded those prospects. There€™s a question of whether he even could pass a WWE physical. And after the great performances Angle has put on in a WWE ring, it really would be fitting if he could get a suitable sendoff from the company that launched him. Besides, who wouldn€™t want to see Angle snap Jack Swagger€™s ankle while yelling, €œThis is how you put on an anklelock!€

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
