12 WWE Superstars Who Made It Big And Then Just Disappeared
8. The Miz
Miz could almost get a ditto to everything said about R-Truth, with one big addition: Hes a former WWE Champion who main-evented WrestleMania XXVII and left with the title. Miz also is still fluttering about on WWE television, but hes nowhere near the superstar he was in 2010-11. Say what you will about his WWE Championship run, The Miz was capable of making fans hate him something fierce. In some ways, its a shame he was such an afterthought in the John Cena-The Rock feud. He just happened to be the guy holding the title at the time. Awesome Truth revitalized Mizs heel career at a time when he could have slid into obscurity after losing the title. But once Awesome Truth ended, so did Mizs run at the top of the card. He went from main event in WrestleMania XXVII to a 12-man tag match the following Mania. He has tread water in the midcard since then, picking up a couple Intercontinental Championship reigns and gaining a new finisher, a badly applied figure-four leglock. Miz is definitely still around, still gets decent mic time and is always a couple wins away from title contention, but his fall from grace in 2011-12 was a sight to behold.
Scott is a former journalist and longtime wrestling fan who was smart enough to abandon WCW during the Monday Night Wars the same time as the Radicalz. He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
