If you watched WWF television in the mid-90s, chances are you're familiar with Savio Vega.

Savio Vega was first revealed to fans at the inaugural In Your House Pay-Per-View as a longtime friend of Razor Ramon. Savio quickly received a decent push, wrestling in four matches in one night at the next month's King Of The Ring tournament, making it all the way to the Finals. Vega remained an active part of the WWF mid-card through 1998.

Even before he debuted as Razor Ramon's childhood buddy, the real-life Juan Rivera had been competing in the World Wrestling Federation as a heel, under a mask for most of 1994. Kwang was the name given to Savio's original masked character with Harvey Wippleman as his manager. Kwang was a mist-spraying, evil ninja that was primarily used to put over other mid-card talents, but he did compete in the 1994 Royal Rumble as well as in matches against Bret Hart, Razor Ramon, and The Undertaker.

After a year or so, Kwang got the gong and Rivera was repackaged as the Latin Sensation, Savio Vega.
