With a card featuring Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, Shane McMahon and Triple H, the most anticipated match at WrestleMania 32 pitted Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Charlotte against each other in a Triple Threat match to determine the brand new WWE women's champion.

The second-generation competitor Charlotte entered as the Divas champion, the dominant head of the women's division since the previous September. Lynch was the consummate babyface, the closest thing to an organic fan-favorite that the roster had. Banks, on the other hand, was a brash and arrogant competitor assured of her own skills and determined to land the top prize in the industry.

Together, the three women waged war in an epic encounter that lived up to the considerable hype that preceded it. Charlotte launched herself off the top rope with a moonsault, wiping her opponents out at ringside. Lynch dove through the ropes and took out Banks and Charlotte.

Not to be outdone, and sensing that her title aspirations may be slipping through her fingers, The Boss exploded off the top rope with a frog splash that broke up a Figure Four by the champion.

Sixteen minutes into the match, a resourceful Charlotte disposed of Banks just after a Bank Statement to Lynch, that trapped an injured Lynch in the Figure Eight for the tapout victory and the title.

The match was historically significant in that it was unarguably the highest-profile women's match in the history of WWE, not to mention that crowning of the first women's champion in six years. The wrestlers performed up to the moment, never appearing nervous or overwhelmed by the moment. Banks was outstanding, challenging her inner Eddie Guerrero and Charlotte was the heel that the action, and finish, was built around.

Lynch, though, was the glue that held the match together. She was almost always at the center of the action and really worked to ensure the quality of the match. Much like her career on the main roster to date, her showing on the grandest stage in sports entertainment was understated and great.
