13 Current WWE Superstars Destined For The Hall Of Fame

7. Santino Marella

santino 2-time Intercontinental Champion United States Champion WWE Tag Team Champion 2011 Royal Rumble Runner-Up Comic relief characters have always had a place in the WWE, especially during the PG Era. There have been numerous superstars that have come through the curtain that have left a lasting impression on the audience for their comedic antics rather than their in-ring prowess. Santino Marella fits into this category. A competitor with a crazy unwavering accent and excellent timing has left the crowd laughing when other superstars were entertaining through their wrestling ability. The thing about Marella is that he is a perfectly serviceable wrestler, with a much wider move-set than has been exposed on television, but his personality is always the most important facet of his character. Plucked from the crowd for his debut match, he won the Intercontinental Championship, and over time was able to transform his stale babyface character into an arrogant Italian buffoon that was very entertaining. So entertaining that he had to turn back into a face due to his popularity for his funny style. The fact that he has been chiefly employed as a comedy character but has managed to garner championship accolades and fantastic crowd support in both the Royal Rumble and the Elimination Chamber means that he has transcended beyond the joke character that he was designed to play. Also, he has kissed a lot of hot divas. And considering that mono-brow, it is probably that above all other things that means he deserves a spot in the Hall of Fame.
