The antagonist in NXT's most gut-wrenching angle of 2017 hasn't been seen since last summer, when he stuck a knife in long-time tag team partner Johnny Gargano's back.

A ruptured anterior cruciate ligament suffered in May has thus far prevented the story from escalating, but the wait may finally be over, with multiple sources predicting Ciampa's return at TakeOver: Philadelphia (January 27th). This would be several weeks ahead of the original prognosis, but it now seems to be the consensus among the wrestling media.

Get ready for NXT's biggest feud of 2018, because it's right around the corner.

Estimated Return: January.
