13 Match Star Ratings For AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door

10. BUY-IN: Max Caster & Gunn Club Vs. Yuya Uemara & The LA Dojo

Will Ospreay Orange Cassidy
AEW

There really wasn't much to this at all.

A short match that was more or less an excuse for Max Caster to drop the word "hentai" in a rap, Billy Gunn, being the worker he is, was much funnier. After bumping for a genuinely impressive Alex Coughlin fallaway slam, Billy roared back and tested the bumping ability of the young LA Dojo lads by tossing them very, very high into the air. The carny black comedy was perversely amusing, which is just as well, since the five minutes this ate up existed purely to give the New Japan boys experience of working massive packed house.

Watching young rookies plummet to their doom is funny, it just is, and it's also funny to imagine Billy smacking them on the back with a "Good job, kid!" backstage and them being shoved forward by a good foot and a half.

Star Rating: ★½
