13 Most Underused Talents In WWE Today

9. Curtis Axel

I feel really bad for Curtis Axel, because he€™s had some pretty bad luck as a performer ever since he had his character repackaged in 2013. Things weren€™t exactly great beforehand, but he had his alliance with Paul Heyman overshadowed by CM Punk and Brock Lesnar, then pretty much faded into black. He did have a run with Ryback as part of Rybaxel, but that ended and Axel was left on his own again. This year even his spot in the Rumble was taken away, with Erick Rowan attacking him from behind and taking his spot in the match, albeit leading to some hilarious segments in which Curtis Axel states that he€™s €œoften imitated, never eliminated€, and that he€™s still in the match right now. They should have run with that, because it was funny as hell. Then AxelMania was created, and in the post-WrestleMania season, the worst thing that could possibly happen happened, and his gimmick changed into nothing more than a Hulk Hogan cover band. With Hogan€™s release, you€™d think this would do wonders and get his career back on track, but of course, he hasn€™t ben seen on-air since. I€™m not asking for him to be called Joe Hennig and for his family legacy to be shoved in our faces every night, but have the man acknowledged and try to build something for him as a singles competitor. He could be a great mid-card Superstar if only given the chance.
