13 Problems Nobody Wants To Admit About WrestleMania 31
6. Randy Orton Is Really Fantastic. Maybe TOO Fantastic
Randy Orton is so convincing at doing "great pro wrestling" that in one night he almost destroyed any and all hope WWE ever put in Seth Rollins. On Steve Austin's podcase, the "Rattlesnake" often discusses young talents finding that "extra gear," aka that place where a wrestler can go to find the extra level of angst that truly sells a match. The one thing about said "extra gear" is that in locating that place, your opponent has to be willing to go there with you, and make the circle complete. In Randy Orton going to a place that Seth Rollins has no idea how to access, Rollins' tremendous momentum was almost killed dead by "The Viper." Is Orton working at a level that Rollins can't psychologically reach an issue? Yes. For all of Seth Rollins' amazing flippy dos and athleticism, people really just want to see him get punched in the face. Of course, when Randy Orton punches you in the face, he instead figuratively punts your head into the ether.
