You held the Intercontinental title from June 2, 1987 to August 29, 1988, which is still a record. Do you think anyone will ever surpass your near-15-month reign?

“You know, I thought this Miz kid, with the way they were doing it, they might be trying to kinda shut me up. But he lost the belt to Dolph Ziggler [at No Mercy]. But I really thought they were going to do it, just so they could make a big deal of it.

“Vince is a funny guy about shoving it in your face or putting the boots to you when you’re down. The worst thing you can do is tell him you need something. God forbid you take his help because you’re going to pay for it somewhere, and you’re going to pay dearly.

“I thought [Miz] might be the one. The other one that I thought might be really good and I pitched them the idea, but they didn’t go with it, was Santino Marella.”
