11. Building The Gimmick
The character of being a gigantic wresting fan wasn't a hard one for Bayley to sink her teeth into because it's essentially who she is in real life. Once it became apparent that was the direction they were going to go with her, she drove headfirst into the gimmick.
Bayley printed out pictures of all the women on the roster and made a scrapbook of all of her "favorites", and she would get the other women to be in her promos with her so she could mark out and ask them for autographs.
She calls the character "basically me being myself when I was ten years old." After about a month or so the people in charge at NXT decided they wanted to debut the gimmick on TV, and she was extremely excited to be able to portray the role and tap into all her great memories as a young fan.
