13 Things We Learned From Mick Foley On Stone Cold's WWE Network Podcast

8. "Do You Like Pain?"

Stone Cold talks about Mick's travels through Japan where he engaged in some of the most violent spectacles the sport has ever seen, specifically mentioning his death match series with Funk that included barbed wire, explosives and other various dangerous gimmicks.

Austin says he remembers Mick talking about a show where he wrestled three matches in one night and damn near killed himself for about $300, calling it one of his "proudest moments" and asks Mick if he likes pain.

The question made Foley look a little uncomfortable, and he says that he's never enjoyed pain it was just something he told himself he'd have to live with if he was going to continue to pursue professional wrestling. It wasn't until he got older when he realized that he may have overdone it a bit.

"I never liked it, I'd say it motivated me."

Foley says for a time there wasn't much difference between Cactus Jack and himself, talking about The Attitude Era and how the characters were very real extensions of their personality. As he got older he said he needed those hard shots - such as violent matches with Edge - to remind him that he could still be that guy.
