13 Things We Learned From New Day On Talk Is Jericho
11. The New Nation Of Domination
When the group was first rumored, online fans and reporters were speculating that they were going to be an updated Nation of Domination-type stable, and when it didn't happen there was quite a bit of disappointment. The guys set the record straight by stating that was never the plan. Xavier and Kofi both say that everyone expected them to become a modern version of The Nation of Domination - a group of angry black guys who were frustrated at being held down, but they say that that was never their nor the company's intention for the group. Woods says the plan instead was for it to be a group of friends with similar viewpoints and backgrounds who want more from their jobs and their lives. He also adds that no one ever thought of The Wyatts as being the new Godwinns - which isn't true, because a lot of people cracked on Vince's apparent fetish for hillbillies - and seems a little frustrated that people would assume they would go in the direction of the NoD.
