13 Triple H WWE Projects That Failed Miserably
9. Jeff Hardy
Triple H has always had a soft spot for Jeff Hardy. It is a little bit of a mystery why, as they're two very different guys, then again Jeff's always had a special charisma about him and a wonderful ability when focused on wrestling. The first evidence of Hunter having Jeff's back was in April 2001, when The Game put Jeff over for the Intercontinental Title. A year and a half after that, he lobbied for Jeff to be mentored by Shawn Michaels on screen, but that ultimately went nowhere as the burned out Hardy left in early 2003. Upon his return, Triple H again went out of his way to work with him and put him over. In 2006 he had him as part of Team DX at Survivor Series, and a year later he was part of "Team Triple H" and the last surviving member alongside Hunter. Then came the big one, in December 2008 it was Hardy vs Edge vs Triple H for the WWE Title. Hardy won that night and was pushed hard over the next six months as a franchise player. Unfortunately, injury and personal problems resulted in his leaving the company after SummerSlam 2009. Triple H had backed a guy who was always going to let the company down.
