13 Triple H WWE Projects That Failed Miserably
13. Shelton Benjamin
Shelton Benjamin was one of the best in-ring workers of the WWE new millennium, but unfortunately he couldn't cut a promo to save his life. Nevertheless, Hunter thought he could make the talented athlete a star. He was rightly impressed by Benjamin's performances over on Smackdown in 2003, so he lobbied for him to be drafted to Raw in March of 2004. Right away, he wanted to work with him, so Benjamin versus Triple H was made for the March 29th 2004 Raw. It was the show closing main event no less! Amazingly, Hunter put him over clean, with the youngster executing a roll up on the veteran after a splash in the corner. Even more amazingly, Benjamin then won further matches via count out and a DQ. But that was that. Benjamin went nowhere in the weeks after the Triple H feud, it ultimately didn't help him one little bit. Fans just couldn't bring themselves to care about a dull personality. He became a lower card jobber and novelty act, before being let go in 2010. Hunter had quickly moved on in 2004 and dropped all interest in the rookie.
