13 Triple H WWE Projects That Failed Miserably
10. Sheamus
The story about Sheamus and Triple H is now infamous. The veteran was training in the gym one day, when the plucky Irishman went over and asked if he could work out with him. The two end up becoming gym buddies, then a few months later Sheamus was WWE Champion. A few more months after that, they worked against each other in a high profile match at WrestleMania. Everyone figured it was a case of sucking up to the boss and getting preferential treatment. But to be fair to Sheamus, maybe WWE always planned on using him in a major role. Also to be fair to him, there's no rule against wanting to lift weights with your boss. It is good to get on with people. The Sheamus push has never really stopped, he's on a cool million dollars a year and is pushed as a top guy. But he's got to be considered a failure, given that he's been pushed and paid as a top guy but never really generated top guy business. Fans are on the whole loathing of him, with the kind of "X-Pac Heat" that no performer wants. Triple H remains a major supporter.
