13 Ups & 0 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown

12. Starting With A Match

As a WWE viewer, few things are more relieving than firing up an episode of Raw or SmackDown and seeing the show kick off with anything other than the usual in-ring talking segment.

This was the case last night, with WWE throwing the pre-booked Revival and Randy Orton vs. New Day six-man tag in the first slot. Doing this is always welcome. When WWE kick straight to the action, it's usually a good indication that we're in for a lean, filller-free, evening, and in this case, it helps that the match itself was a mini-banger (more on that later).

Good on WWE for letting the wrestlers wrestle in the opening spot, rather than stand around talking at each other, particularly on such an angle-heavy show. Formula breaks are great.
