13 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (Jun 3)

6. The Baddest Man On The Planet

Orange Cassidy Chris Jericho
AEW

AEW effectively christened Orange Cassidy "The Baddest Man On The Planet" last night - a move worth it for the rustled jimmies alone.

The Jericho/Cassidy confrontation came after Jericho had beaten Colt Cabana. 'The Painmaker' launched into a tirade on Mike Tyson, calling last week's brawl the most talked-about event in sports history, then calling 'Iron Mike' out, saying he wanted to fight the baddest man on the planet. The Best Friends' theme hit and out came Casisdy to screw with Jericho, stuffing 'Le Champion's' hands down his own belt then evading The Inner Circle when they swarmed, setting up next week's six-man tag.

A solid angle with smart positioning. Cassidy's quarter-hour numbers are impressive, with 'Freshly Squeezed' posting regular viewership increases seemingly every week. Not that Jericho isn't having a similar effect, of course, but AEW regularly positions OC at the top of the second hour to capitalise on this, which was likely the case here as well. It'll be interesting to see what kind of impact Jericho and Cassidy's combined power has after Orange scored Dynamite's peak viewership at 1 million last week.
