13 Ups & 1 Down From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Feb 26)

12. This'll Do... For Now

Aleister Black Ricochet Lana
WWE

WWE's decision to throw Ricochet and Aleister Black together as a lazy NXT tag team has its problems. It isn't the most creative move in the world, and doesn't make a lot of sense on paper, given the wrestlers' divergent personalities. Last night's segment with Lana wasn't particularly well done, either. The "you will... fade to Black" catchphrase is beyond cheesy and needs to die an immediate death. It's not 1985 anymore, cornballs.

Regardless, it's worth adopting a "see how it pans out" attitude here. This is likely just a placeholder until Ricochet and Black find a permanent home on Raw or SmackDown. They don't quite fit together at the moment, but who knows? Maybe the writers will find a way to make them feel like more than a couple of random dudes who came from the same place at the same time.

For now, we're thankful that they're on television and doing something meaningful, though it's odd that they featured in DIY's place this week.
