13 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Feb 12)

3. Hangman & Omega Star In Another Tag Thriller

SCU Hangman Page Kenny Omega
AEW

The great shame of this wonderful Kenny Omega/Hangman Page storyline is that it'll spell the end of the duo's awesome string of tag team matches. These guys are wonderful together, raising the standards for AEW tag bouts every time of asking, and the scene will be hurt when they eventually split and go into their singles feud.

That observation aside, their rematch was SoCal Uncensored was outstanding. On the Jericho Cruise, they worked a slower, more traditional style partly enforced by the lack of space around the ring. This left little scope for dives. This time, they found a happy medium. Athletic feats were back on the menu with Omega and Scorpio Sky setting that tone early on, but there was plenty of classic tag team wrestling as well, particularly when SCU were in control. Those guys are total pros.

Page's attempts at going it solo vs. SCU ended in both him and Omega being trapped in dual submissions. Earlier, Kenny had tried to force synergy with his disillusioned partner by wearing a similar black best to the ring, though there was a point where he was desperate for a tag with a knocked-down Hangman nowhere to be found. They pulled it together in the end, though, as a beautiful tandem flurry ended with their V-Trigger/Busckhot combo for the win.

If it wasn't already, AEW's tag team division is fast becoming the best in the wrestling. Bouts like this are the reason.
