13 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW All Out

3. Jim Ross Vs. The Officials

Jim Ross

While Jim Ross was largely fine throughout All Out, something needs to be done about the way he addresses officials.

JR once again went out of his way to draw attention to a number of refereeing mistakes throughout the pay-per-view. It was most apparent in PAC vs. Kenny Omega, where he pointed out a generous countout attempt, and Riho vs. Hikaru Shida, during which he criticised the official's positioning. This needs to stop.

While refereeing gaffes will be spotted by some viewers, a wrestling broadcaster should never be drawing attention to a botch. Instead, they should be doing everything in their power to talk around it and make the audience think of something else. Ross knows this, of course. He's the greatest wrestling announcer of all time, and your writer is just some shmuck on the internet... but why isn't he applying it?
