13 Ups And 16 Downs From WWE Royal Rumble 2019

3. Rollins Wins The Big One

Regardless of how burned-out the crowd might have been, Seth Rollins was due to win a big match after the year he’s had.

Rollins has consistently put on some of the best matches on the roster throughout 2018 and into 2019, and it looks like WWE is hitching their wagon to him. So winning the Rumble and challenging the nearly unbeatable Beast Brock Lesnar would seem to be the logical move here.

Entering at #10, Rollins lasted the entire way, though he got put through a table toward the end and was laid out for about five minutes. Still, he powered through and managed to eliminate Braun Strowman at the end for the win.

The lack of a memorable performance – quick, name two really notable things he did besides best Braun – dragged this down a bit, but still, Rollins’ win sets himself up for the next two months and the build to WrestleMania.
