How can you not cheer for Becky Lynch getting to bow out gracefully to do something that means so much to her personally?

Lynch spent more than a year as the face of the entire women’s division, winning both Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships at WrestleMania 35, then holding the Raw title for 13 months before bowing out in May. Lynch relinquished the title before Money in the Bank, having the championship put into the briefcase, so the winner – Asuka – wasn’t winning a shot at the champ, she was winning the championship itself.

The next night, The Man announced what she had done, and revealed she was leaving because she was going to become a mother. And within the past month, Lynch and Seth Rollins announced the birth of their daughter.

Thankfully for Lynch, she also avoided a creatively barren 2020 that might have taken the wind out of her sails had she been around all year. Here’s hoping The Man comes back at some point next year and takes the women’s division by storm once again.
