13 Worst Botches In WWE History

8. Ryback Botches Shell Shock

When this first botch occurred, the Internet Wrestling Community (which, as everyone knows, is the ultimate arbiter of quality regarding anything in pro wrestling) was up in arms. Did Tensai mistime going up for the Shell Shock? Did Ryback botch his own finishing move? Did Tensai decide to go into business for himself, and sandbag Ryback? One thing everyone could agree on€ it had made the Big Guy look ridiculous. The uploader of the full clip to YouTube has tried to help us all out a little by including a clip from a Ryback/CM Punk match where the same thing happened €“ this time, with Paul Heyman. Unfortunately, it€™s still up in the air. Heyman looks like he€™s trying to help, and definitely hasn€™t sandbagged €“ but he€™s not a pro wrestler, and it€™s been a long time since Paul E. has regularly taken bumps of any kind. Some commentators have blamed the odd twisting motion Ryback uses to lift his opponents for the Shell Shock, and said that it makes lifting someone of greater than usual girth problematic. This would explain his trouble with Tensai and Heyman, neither of whom are slim and graceful gazelles, and explain why he never had an issue lifting two jobbers at once. At any rate, the problem seems to have evaporated, so perhaps it€™s not longer an issue.
