13 WWE Theme Songs That Are Blatant Ripoffs

4. Mickie James (All American Rejects - Night Drive & Toni Basil - Hey Mickey)

Mickie James' theme "Obsession" might seem positively ancient compared to others on this list - it was debuted well over a decade ago way back in the Jim Johnston era - but there are still many (especially younger viewers) who aren't aware of its rather blatant inspiration.

This is a unique case in that Mickie's theme is inspired by not just one song but two. The clap-clap intro is virtually identical to All American Rejects' 2005 tune "Night Drive", while the persistent bass line is more obviously torn from Toni Basil's 1981 pop classic "Hey Mickey."

It's a bizarre but fitting combination and you can certainly argue that remixing the two together negates the unlicensed lifting. But on the other hand, it basically seems like Johnston just Googled "songs with the name Mickey in" and arrived at the Toni Basil hit.
