14 Most Influential Wrestlers In WWE History

3. The Rock

The Rock is huge for the WWE. His promos are arguably the best ever in wrestling, and his in-ring work was good as well. Combine that with an unforgettable look and it is no surprise that he managed to cross over into the mainstream with movies. He became bigger than the WWE. The commercial success of The Rock influenced Vince McMahon greatly. Take a look at John Cena. That was basically a post-Rock project to create the same sort of multimedia superstar, but one who would be restrained to the company. It sort of worked and Cena has pretty much had the sort of career that The Rock would have had if he stayed in WWE. To prove his influence on the business, look no further than when he headlined WrestleMania 28 in 2012 against Cena. Despite being gone from WWE for over half a decade, he came right back in and did the highest grossing pay per view event in pro wrestling history.
