In terms of influencing prospective female performers, Trish Stratus deserves her place as one of the WWE's most important performers. She revolutionised what a woman could be in the WWE, evidenced by the fact she was the first female to ever main event (alongside Lita) on Monday Night Raw in 2004. Stratus was the worker who carried Lita in that match, in addition to being the franchise face of the Diva division. Never before had a woman married critical and commercial performance so successfully. Stratus was an athlete who wowed in the ring and a sex symbol who sold in the merchandise stalls. Her level of success changed the perception of what women's wrestling could be and gave rise to the current structure of featuring beautiful women in athletic matches.
