14 Things We Learned From Daniel Bryan On Talk Is Jericho

10. Not Wanting Surgery

Bryan talks about how he didn't want to have his surgery and avoided discussing it with the WWE, then makes allusions to CM Punk and his struggles with the medical staff allegedly telling him to work through his injuries, saying that his experience has always been the complete opposite.
"I'm at this point where I'm the WWE world heavyweight champion. I'm at the highest point of my career. The last thing I want them to do is have me stop wrestling."
Jericho inquires how he felt during WrestleMania 30 and Bryan replies that he was always fine in matches, it was the downtime in between that was hard on him. Eventually the decision on whether or not to have surgery was taken out of his hands and the office gave him no choice. At this point Vince McMahon still wasn't aware of the situation. After hearing from the medical staff Bryan immediately contacted John Cena to get his advice and Cena told him to call Vince himself - to which Bryan notes that he didn't have his number and had never even spoken to him on the phone.
